In an attempt to get face masks for practicing doctors, the Hartford County Medical Association has been trying to convince the CT Department of Public Health and other governmental officials that community based physicians are as much on the front lines as the healthcare workers in hospitals and first responders. The message below to the hospitals indicates that CT is only going to receive 14 percent of the personal protection equipment (PPE’s) that it ordered from the Strategic National Stockpile. Given this fact, it is unlikely that the DOPH will be making face masks available for private practicing physicians anytime soon.
